Maxi Zoo donates €38,255 to dog charity

Pet food and accessory retailer Maxi Zoo has donated €38,255 ( £31,752) to charity Dogs Trust in Ireland.

The donation from Maxi Zoo is due to the success of their annual ‘Friendship Connects, Give Paw’ fundraising campaign.

The campaign, launched by top Irish Model and TV personality Glenda Gilson and her dog, Yazz ran from October to January across 20 Maxi Zoo stores nationwide.

She said: “As a true dog lover I’m delighted to have been part of this campaign which raised an incredible amount of money for Dogs Trust. Every dog deserves a second chance and Dogs Trust works so hard to find them their forever home, which is why this campaign was so special.”

Becky Bristow, executive director, Dogs Trust Ireland added: “We are extremely grateful for this amazing support and wonderful gift from Maxi Zoo’s ‘Give Paw’ campaign which will benefit all of the dogs and puppies in our Rehoming Centre.

“Maxi Zoo shares our passion for giving our dogs the very best care we can, and their efforts, and those of their customers, will go a long way towards ensuring that the dogs in our care are as happy and comfortable as possible.”
