The top excuses made by Brits to avoid taking the trip of a lifetime in their twilight years is due to commitments to pets, claims travel specialist Explore.
Research conducted by Explore*reveals that 70 percent of over 50s admit to regularly making excuses for not doing things they want to do, such as travelling or learning something new.
For pet owners, the top excuse for not taking trips overseas was a reluctance to leave cherished animals behind.
With this in mind, the adventure holiday specialist is offering pet owners the opportunity to save £100 on pet care fees so that owners can set off for their longed-for trip safe in the knowledge that their dogs are being impeccably cared for back on home turf.
Ashley Toft, managing director, Explore comments: “It’s about time we stopped making excuses and instead booked that trip of a lifetime we’ve been meaning to take for years. We Brits are experts at finding reasons for not doing things, and are adept at putting others first – from our children and spouses to our pets. The reality is that it’s often only ourselves standing in the way of our dreams. It’s time to seize the day and book that trip or experience, whether you’re travelling alone, as a couple or in a group.”
