Pets at Home Foundation launches biggest ever Christmas fundraiser

Amy Wilson, fundraising manager, said last year the foundation raised £2m and plans to beat that total this year

Pets at Home Foundation has launched its annual festive fundraising initiative this week as it aims to raise its biggest ever target of £2.2m to support rescue pets across the country.

The announcement follows the revelation earlier this month that more than 1.1mmillion UK pets are currently without a home in the UK.

Amy Wilson, fundraising manager at Pets at Home Foundation, said: “We hope our Christmas fundraiser will be our biggest ever and it is so important in helping us to support the UK’s rescue pets.

“Last year we managed to raise £2m which was incredible, and in 2021 we want to take that even further. We’re always amazed by the level of support we get and I’m sure this year will be no different.”

She added: “As much as there are millions of pets in loving homes this Christmas, there are also many who are looking for one and, what’s more, the needs of those different pets is becoming more and more complex.”
