A 2015 survey of 2500 pet owners, revealed that nearly half (46 percent) were not aware that dogs can potentially suffer from dry eye, a condition that affects around 1 in 22 dogs.

Dry eye is a condition that leads to the destruction of a dog’s tear glands – rendering them unable to produce the normal amount of tears. This leads to severe discomfort and, if left untreated, can progress to have very serious consequences, including potentially even blindness.

As part of Bayer Animal Health’s ‘Vision Matters’ campaign, a series of online videos feature veterinary surgeon Paul Manktelow describing the key signs dog owners could be missing when it comes to canine eye health.
