\r\n\r\nInternational pet product expert, PetSafe\u00ae, has just kick started a nationwide on and offline campaign \u2013 PetSafe\u00ae Pet Hero - to search for the UK\u2019s most heroic hounds or courageous cats.\r\nPetSafe\u00ae Pet Hero is being rolled out regionally, launching initially in the North West, and will run until September this year. The national winner will receive a year\u2019s worth of PetSafe\u00ae toys, as well as a pet friendly holiday worth \u00a3500, courtesy of Sykes Cottages. There will also be a \u00a3250 goody bag of PetSafe\u00ae toys up for grabs for four regional winners along the way.\r\nCelebrating pet heroes from all walks of life - from animals in the services, therapy and assistance pets, or simply a much loved pet who has brought joy to a pet owner\u2019s life \u2013 there\u2019s no hero deed too big or small to qualify for the PetSafe\u00ae Pet Hero title.\r\n\u00a0\r\nTo start the search, PetSafe\u00ae has found inspirational dog, Lucie from Chorley, Lancashire, who was trained by Support Dogs - a national charity dedicated to increasing independence and quality of life for people with various medical conditions.\r\nHer owner, Alice Boardman, whose son Alex was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, explains why Lucie is their family\u2019s pet hero. \u201cAlex and Lucie\u2019s first hour together was simply magical. Lucie, or as they call her at Alex\u2019s school \u2018The Wonder Dog\u2019, has made previously stressful activities such as going to the supermarket a pleasure.
