Veterinary diagnostics company Test and Treat has appointed Rachel Kirkby as business development manager.

Kirkby will  be working alongside the research team that led to the development of U-Treat, to explore other applications for the technology, including its use in bovine mastitis, bovine respiratory disease and otitis externa.

She will also support the launch of U-Treat in the veterinary sector, a two-part in-house test that firstly detects urinary tract infection (UTI).

Kirkby will be collaborating with leading vets in industry and academia to develop the full potential and new applications for the test, in particular the possibilities to improve animal welfare and reduce the development of antimicrobial resistance.

She joined Test and Treats in July and worked as a lead vert at a West London Clinic for the past six years.
