BBC One will be placing pets in the spotlight in a follow up series of Britain’s Spending Secrets. Presenter Anne Robinson aims to explore the increasing trend to view pets as children or family members.

The phenomenon is well known within the pet industry. Recent years have seen a growing interest in luxury items and the diets of well-cared-for animals. Marketing intelligence firms such as Euromonitor have noted the rise in humanisation.

TV production company The Garden is currently searching for much-loved pets and their indulgent owners to appear on the show. Anne hopes to meet animal lovers of all types, from those who have a close bond with their pooch to people who stint themselves to give pets a better – more luxurious – lifestyle.

If your customers (and their pets) would like to take part in the show, advise them to get in touch via pets@thegardenproductions.tv.
