The maker of Vitalin and Alpha, Grove Pet Foods Ltd, has installed solar panels at its premises on the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire border.

The company has expressed a commitment to improving its green credentials. It aims to benefit the business, the environment and local community by reducing its carbon footprint.

Company Director, John Walgate said: ‘The solar panels will significantly reduce the energy bills and cut carbon emissions. Any electricity not used by Grove Pet Foods Ltd, predominantly at weekends, will be exported to the grid for use by local homes and businesses.

‘The installation of the solar panels is in keeping with our environmentally conscious approach to manufacturing high quality pet food. We are proud to say that wherever possible, our carefully selected ingredients are sourced from the UK, with some even from local farms.’
