A boy who got stuck up a tree attempting to rescue his pet cat has been rescued by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Both boy and cat were rescued in York at 9:55pm yesterday by one fire crew who used a 13.5 metre ladder to reach them. The fire service would not release the exact location of the incident, however they said that both the boy and his cat were unharmed.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said that the boy was warned about the dangers of climbing trees.

The incident comes almost a month after the same fire service were called out to rescue a drone stuck in a tree, at the time a spokesperson said: “It makes a change from rescuing cats”.
