Ferne Animal Sanctuary at Wambrook, Near Chard in Somerset has just announced a new role for former Director, Jenny Wheadon.  From 1st August, after 28 years service, Jenny took on a new role as Head of External Funding.

The Sanctuary has been caring for domestic and farm animals for over 70 years. As it evolves, the requirement for research and development of corporate and more productive funding areas has increased.

New Role for Ferne Animal Sanctuary’s Former Director.Jenny will now be responsible for seeking out new and exciting opportunities to solicit legacies and grant funding as well as considering other innovative revenue streams.

“I am delighted. More of my time will be spent networking away from the Sanctuary meaning that I will not be available to oversee operational matters, therefore, Patricia Gardner-Harper will be taking over those duties until a new Director/General Manager is recruited”, she said.

Ferne Animal Sanctuary recently launched their £1m project “New Digs for Dogs” to build a new enhanced kennel block, improved grooming and veterinary care room, information hub, social unit, offices, reception and purpose built rehoming centre at their site in Somerset.

Fundraising packs for the appeal and details of how to donate can be obtained by calling Ferne Animal Sanctuary on 01460 65214 or by visiting www.ferneanimalsanctuary.org
