Broadreach Nature has announced the launch of its first ever environmental initiative.

The pet healthcare group plans to dedicate 20 acres of Broadreach Nature land to the planting of additional native trees and woodland, having already planted 400 native species of British woodland trees.

In order to fund the initiative, the group has pledged that for every £100 spent on Broadreach Nature products at trade and retail sites, it will plant a new tree on the purchaser’s behalf.

Local Nationwide and Barclays bank branches have offered up volunteers to help plant the trees.

The company, that has been awarded Ethical Company Status for the second year in a row, said it is committed to the health and wellbeing of Pets by “not only offering the best possible natural products for Customer’s Pets but by also caring about the environment”.

The company said it is also taking its environmental leadership “one step further” by only working with manufacturers and logistics contractors that have a strong low carbon or carbon neutral footing.

The group will also put a renewed focus on office material recycling and energy saving fixtures and fittings that include solar panels. It hopes to “leave as little carbon footprint as possible” in the future.
