Increasing humanisation of pets has led to a resilience in the pet accessories market even through a difficult economic climate.

AMA Research has published its ninth edition of ‘Pet Accessories Market Report – UK 2015-2019 Analysis’. The report has information on recent trends and issues as well as a forecast for the next few years.

Key influences which have increased resilience of the pet accessory market are pet ownership levels, trends in the types of pet owned, a demand for more convenient products and the increasing humanisation of pets, with the latter representing one of the most important reasons.

However, the market for pet accessories still remains competitive and low-cost imports are a key feature in some product segments, such as toys.

Future prospects for pet accessories are relatively bright and the market is forecast to experience steady growth rates until 2019.
