Sustainable dog food brand, GooodUK, has recently partnered with Rhino conservation charity, Rettet das Nashorn, which is dedicated to supporting The Black Mambas, a female anti-poaching unit.
This team and their dogs are dedicated to protecting the last rhinos in South Africa’s Krüger National Park by searching for poachers, illegal rhino horn hunters, weapons and injured animals, as well as educating local communities.
GooodUK also recently launched #DoGoood, an area of the brand dedicated to showcasing its commitment to people and the planet. The company has already hosted a number of micro-events, from beach clean-ups and community dog walks to volunteering to help the homeless.
It undertakes a number of environmental initiatives from planting 4,641 trees as part of its latest campaign on Instagram and donating to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust to using a world first materially recyclable packaging and FSC-certified cardboard. This innovative packaging means it can be reincarnated into an entirely new product, and not just thermally recycled like other dog food bags.
Furthermore, GooodUK only uses MSC-certified fisheries and organic meat.
Director of GooodUK, Hugo Griffiths, said: “As a sustainable dog food brand we feel we have a responsibility to get fellow dog-lovers living more sustainably, and through our initiatives, we hope to do exactly that. Our whole ethos is built on bettering the planet for people and pets.
“From using organic meat and MSC-certified fisheries to using a world first materially recyclable packaging, Goood isn’t just any old dog food brand. We’re hoping to shake up the dog food market one bowl at a time.”
