Pet retailer Jollyes has expanded its UK store network with the opening of a new location in Yeovil, taking its estate to 123 stores as it continues its national growth strategy.
The new store, located at Houndstone Retail Park, has created seven jobs and is managed by Jason Freeman. It was officially opened by Yeovil Mayor Tony Lock alongside members of the retailer’s management team and representatives from the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals (NFRSA), Jollyes’ national charity partner.
The launch was marked by a series of opening day activities, including appearances from an Elvis tribute act, Yeovil FC’s mascot and retired prison service dog Ben, who attended with the NFRSA to highlight the charity’s work supporting retired service animals.
The Yeovil opening forms part of Jollyes’ wider expansion plans. In April, the retailer identified more than 160 towns and cities across the UK where it hopes to open stores over the next five years, subject to suitable sites becoming available.
Jollyes said its next store is scheduled to open at Wyvern Retail Park in Derby on 10 July. Over the past three years, the company has almost doubled the size of its retail estate as it continues to expand its presence in the UK pet care market.
Jason Freeman, store manager of Jollyes, said: "We’re delighted to finally open the doors and welcome customers to the new store here in Yeovil."
