Burgess Pet Care has announced it will present its Burgess Excel and Country Values brands at Interzoo 2026, along with its private label manufacturing knowledge.

The Yorkshire-based small animal specialist and private label manufacturer for dog, cat and small animal products said it hopes to use the pet trade fair to reinforce international partnerships and speed up global expansion.

The company’s Burgess Excel showcase will be its growing hay portfolio, aimed at demonstrating the importance of forage in the nutrition of small animals.

Its ‘Excel Feeding Hay’ range, the business said, is sourced from “trusted Yorkshire farms, encourages natural foraging and supports dental and digestive health”. It added that it is further expanding the collection for retailers with diverse flavours and size formats.

Burgess Excel will also exhibit upcoming 2026 product innovations, such as ‘Veg Patch Bites’, an addition to the ‘Nature Snacks’ baked treat range. The product is intended for hand feeding, helping to strengthen the bond between pets and their owners.

Following strong commercial success in the UK, Burgess Excel will also display its Mini Hay Bales, consisting of 100% Timothy hay.

Other new products within the Excel nugget range target specific life-stage and lifestyle needs, such as ‘Indoor Rabbit Nuggets’ with dandelion and nettle that are formulated with vitamin D to reflect lower exposure to natural sunlight and ‘Mature Guinea Pig Nuggets’ with cranberry and mint that have a high-fibre formulation and specific ingredients to support vitality and joint health.

Burgess is also bringing its Country Values small animal range, marketed as a value-oriented alternative to muesli-style mixes.

The firm said its nugget-based recipes are designed to prevent selective feeding and includes ‘Rabbit and Guinea Pig Nuggets’, grass-based Nourishing Nibbles treats and dust-extracted Bedding Hay.

Although Country Values is established in the UK market, Burgess said it is also looking at avenues for wider European and global distribution, with Interzoo playing a primary role in its continued export strategy.

Its existing retail partners include Pets at Home, Jollyes, Zooplus and Maxizoo.

Commenting on the upcoming trade show, Kerry-Ann Wessells, international marketing executive at Burgess Pet Care, said: “Interzoo provides an unrivalled platform to connect with international retailers, distributors and supply partners. Burgess Excel continues to lead through innovation in forage and functional small animal nutrition, and we are excited to showcase our expanded hay portfolio and new product development for 2026.

“At the same time, Country Values represents a strong opportunity for international growth, offering retailers a value-led yet nutritionally responsible alternative within small animal. We look forward to building new partnerships and strengthening our global presence.”
