Pets at Home has entered a strategic partnership with commerce platform Rithum to launch a dropship programme for its online business.

The collaboration will allow the pet care retailer to expand its digital product assortment and test new categories.

By using Rithum’s automation technology, the company aims to increase the speed at which new products are brought to the UK market.

The programme integrates with Pets at Home’s existing digital infrastructure to manage supplier enablement and product data.

Rithum provides a global commerce platform used by retailers to manage omnichannel integration and supply chain logistics.

Sean Dorgan, Pets at Home director of multi-channel, said: “Our partnership with Rithum marks the next phase of our digital transformation and reinforces our commitment to offering UK consumers an unrivalled omni-channel proposition. Their technology gives us a highly automated and scalable way to extend our assortment and unlock new supply-chain opportunities, allowing us to serve pet owners better than ever before.”

Mark Howell, Rithum director of retailers EMEA, added: “Our collaboration with Pets at Home goes beyond expanding assortment; it’s about building the foundation for the next phase of retail at an exciting moment in their growth. As AI-driven shopping experiences become the norm, rich, accurate, and structured product data will be the fuel that sets the best retailers apart.”
