The Dorwest Herbs Foundation has donated £8,000 to a range of local and national animal charities, continuing a programme of charitable giving linked to the herbal pet care brand’s product sales.

The foundation, established to support the welfare, health and quality of life of dogs and cats, distributes funding annually through sales of its Keeper’s Mix and Keeper’s Mix Sensitive products, with 10% of profits from each sale donated to charity.

This year’s donations have been shared between five organisations, including Margaret Green Animal Rescue, Hope Rescue, DASH Dogs, the Wild at Heart Foundation and the Thin Blue Paw Foundation. The charities support causes ranging from the care of abandoned and mistreated pets in the UK to international programmes aimed at reducing stray dog populations and assisting serving and retired police dogs.

Dorwest Herbs said the latest round of donations builds on a legacy of giving that began during the company’s 70th anniversary celebrations and reflects its ongoing commitment to animal welfare.

As part of its support, members of the Dorwest team also volunteered with Margaret Green Animal Rescue in December, helping to repair storm damage and carry out maintenance work at the charity’s site.

Jo Boughton-White, Dorwest MD, said: “Every day brings new challenges to charities, especially in the last few unprecedented years. This cash makes a real difference and I want to thank each and every one of our customers who have contributed. We hope to help even more dogs and cats going forward, and we send a huge thank you to all those who work in the charities for their endless care.”

In previous years, the Dorwest Foundation has supported animal welfare causes through a combination of financial donations, product support and equipment, including contributions linked to dog shows and industry events.
