Assisi Petcare has acquired Yakers, a natural dog treat brand, from pet industry group Kennelpak.

Launched in 2017, Yakers introduced Himalayan-style chews to the UK market. The treats are made from a high-protein, low-fat recipe and are designed to be long-lasting, aiding dental hygiene and digestion.

The brand is now marketed as the UK’s top Himalayan-inspired chew range.

Yakers has received industry recognition, including Pet Product Marketing’s “Must Stock Product of the Year” in 2023 for its flavoured chews and Pet Wellbeing Product of the Year in 2024 for its superfoods range.

According to Assisi, the deal aligns with its aim to offer “high-quality” pet care products that support wellbeing and sustainability.

Chris Melander, chief executive of Assisi Petcare, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Yakers into the Assisi portfolio. It’s a brand that has not only pioneered a category but captured the hearts of pet parents across the UK.

“We’re proud to build on its remarkable legacy and look forward to expanding its reach, innovating with purpose, and continuing to deliver natural, health-focused joy to dogs everywhere.”
