New pet food brand, Denzel’s, is set to launch a range of healthy, everyday hand-baked chews for dogs, reflecting the popularity in health snacks for humans.
The brand offers a low sugar, grain-free alternative for dogs which are under 50 cals per chew.
Co-founders James Lacy and Nathan Perr set up the company when they struggled to find a healthy, everyday snack for Lacy’s checky cocker spaniel, Denzel. With over 10 years’ combined experience working for pet food brands between them, they decided to create their own range which has since been backed by Virgin Startup.
The range of hand-baked chews – which the company claims is a UK first – are made from 100 percent natural ingredients. It comes in three variants; High Protein, Superfood and Nut Butter dog chews. The High Protein range is made with chicken, spinach and chickpeas while the Superfood line uses salmon, banana, berries and apples.
The Nut Butter chews are made with a blend of peanuts, cashews and coconut oil.
Co-founder Nathan Perry said: “With UK families becoming increasingly health conscious and aware of the dangers of a high calorie and high sugar diet, parents are looking for healthier alternatives for themselves, their children and their pets each day. This is why Denzel’s snacks are grain-free as well as naturally low in sugar and under 50 calories per chew.”
