GoWalkies launches blockchain crowdfunding campaign

The additional financing will enable the firm to invest in the user experience and support back-end developments.

GoWalkies has launched a crowdfunding campaign to invest in blockchain technology and support its expansion and development strategy.

GoWalkies is a pet technology business that connects verified dog walkers with dog owners. Benefitting both dog owners and walkers, GoWalkies provides owners with “peace of mind” through a range of safety precautions, whilst allowing walkers to retain 100% of their fee.

Having already implemented features such as unique real-time walk tracking and secure in-app payment processes, GoWalkies is looking to take the next step in its development with the addition of blockchain technology.

GoWalkies’ Kickstarter campaign plans to raise £10k to support “ambitious” expansion. The additional financing will enable the firm to invest in the user experience and support back-end developments.

Sonny D’Avola, founder of GoWalkies, said: “The launch of GoWalkies has been a huge success. From quickly establishing ourselves in the pet tech sector and creating a community of thousands, GoWalkies has gone from strength to strength.

“One of our key targets for driving growth on a national and international scale is the implementation of blockchain technology to support smart contracts. This is what our Kickstarter will primarily fund as well as customer-facing changes to the user interface and experience.”

He added: “We’re extremely excited to invite investors, dog walkers, dog owners and dog lovers to invest in such an exciting brand at such an exciting time in our journey towards a better dog walking landscape for everyone.”
