British dog treat brand Pooch Snax has launched its first natural treat range, porky ears, to the UK market.
Porky ears is a 100% premium British pork treat shaped into ears and air-dried, which Pooch Snax said are a “safer, healthier and more nutritious alternative to pigs ears”.
It comes as pet ownership has surged since the pandemic – there are now 12m dogs in the UK with around a third (33%) of UK households owning a dog.
Pooch Snax market research revealed that almost 60% of pet owners agreed that the health benefits of their pets’ food was important to them.
Porky ears will be available in two sizes; standard includes 15 porky ears (50g per ear) and extra large porky ears 10 pieces (75g per ear) both are £19.99 (including free delivery). It will also be launching a monthly porky ears subscription box.
Pooch Snax general manager said: “We have worked meticulously on porky ears so that it is a healthy, nutritious treat that dogs will love. Dogs are an integral part of the family so it was essential that we created a product that allows people to spoil their dog, safe in the knowledge that it’s offering valuable protein and is safe to chew.”
