Stray animal choir to perform ‘Here Comes The Bride’ for royal couple

Animal welfare charity Blue Cross has announced it has formed a stray animal choir to perform a rendition of ‘Here Comes The Bride’ to be given as a gift to the royal couple and also to raise awareness of the charity’s work.

The choir is mainly made up of stray and homeless dogs, cats and horses from the charity’s many rehoming centres across the UK. All animals in the choir and accompanying music video are currently looking for a home.

Meghan Markle is said to be a big animal lover and is herself the owner of an adopted beagle and labrador-shepherd cross called Guy and Bogart.

Mandy Jones, director of rehoming at Blue Cross, said: “We know that Meghan Markle is a huge fan of rescue pets and the fantastic support she provides for animals is something we want to celebrate.

“To say congratulations to the royal couple on their wedding day, our homeless pets have given something special, they’ve given a gift of song with this rendition of Here Comes The Bride. Each pet seen and heard is desperately looking for its new family and we hope this loving wedding season will help them sing their way into loving new homes.”

Blue Cross research found that one in 10 Brits gives pets a central role in their own wedding ceremony and 56% want their pets to have a starring role in their wedding photos and video.
