The Fitzpatrick Referrals Oncology and Soft Tissue team will be celebrating\u00a0its\u00a0first anniversary on September 2 2016. Over 1,000 patients have already benefitted from their animal hospital's state of the art services.\r\n\r\nIt's been over a year since founder and managing director Professor Noel Fitzpatrick\u00a0put together a team of internationally renowned experts in oncology, soft tissue and nursing.\u00a0Under the guidance of\u00a0clinical director Professor Nick Bacon, they have been working\u00a0at the forefront of\u00a0cancer treatment and care for small animals at the new\u00a0hospital in\u00a0Guildford on Surrey Research Park.\r\n\r\nNick said: \u201cOur original aim was, and remains for the hospital to become the most advanced veterinary cancer centre\u00a0in Europe offering all options to all patients at all times.\u201d\r\n\r\nDr. Laurent Findji, soft tissue specialist added: \u201cThis new hospital was a blank canvas which left us free to implement\u00a0the systems known to work and rethink those known not to. Today, our team has more than doubled in size but the\u00a0energy is unchanged.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe last 12 months have also seen the launch of the\u00a0Fitzpatrick Learning Academy Skills Lab. It furthers the team's aim to create a learning centre to\u00a0teach, share and advance veterinary surgery and medicine.
