The Mayhew Animal Home has teamed up with Gala Bingo and Blue singer Duncan James to find the UK’s pawfect dog walk.
The Hollyoaks actor and dog lover joined the charity’s blind nine year old Shih Tzu, Tallula, on the South Downs National Park walk to help launch the campaign.
For every public vote cast out of the 15 National Parks shortlisted, including the Brecon Beacons, Dartmoor, Cairngorms National Park, and the New Forest, Gala Bingo will make a 50p donation up to the value of £3,000 to The Mayhew.
PR and brand partnership manager at Gala Bingo, Karina Adrian, said: “We’re so excited to launch this campaign to find the UK’s favourite dog walk.
“We’re a nation of pet lovers and it’s a very British thing to throw on wellies, coat and a hat and go and explore national parks and the countryside, even in the summer given the weather!
“We’re also delighted to be teaming up with the Mayhew Animal Home. They’ve been doing fantastic work in caring for and homing animals for over 100 years and we’re thrilled to be part of their work and hopefully will find Tallula and others like her a new home!”
The Mayhew’s chief executive officer, Caroline Yates, said: “We are delighted to partner with Gala Bingo for their UK’s favourite dog walk campaign. Every vote counts and will help us help more animals like Tallula find new forever homes.
‘”The money raised will also help us to continue to rescue more abandoned dogs and cats in need across London.”
