The British Small Animal Veterinary Association has marked World Vet Day (April 30) by shining a light on the extraordinary work being carried out by veterinarians and vet practices.

BSAVA president Susan Dawson said: “We are proud of the passion, professionalism, scientific endeavour, innovation and dedication shown by vets and vet practices each and every day.

“It is important to take all opportunities to celebrate the great work vets and the clinical teams around them do in continuously putting quality care first.”

As James Herriot once said: “I hope to make people realise how totally helpless animals are, how dependent on us, trusting as a child must that we will be kind and take care of their needs.”
