British pet food firm, Butcher’s Pet Care has been placed at number 66 in The Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100.

The company, which is behind dog and cat food brands Butcher’s and the newly introduced Cuffleberry and Co, saw its profits reach £7.3 million in 2015.

Butcher’s produces six million cans and trays of dog and cat food each week, exporting to Italy, Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe.

Butcher’s Pet Care has announced plans to invest £10 million to promote growth at home and abroad. The business development programme includes expansion works to its current factory and the introduction of new product lines to meet evolving consumer needs in the competitive, global market place.

Chairman Graham Baker founded the business in 1983 to use the products from the family’s butchery business. Graham and Derek Evans, managing director, have confirmed the Crick-based company now has sales approaching £100 million.
