From the outside, North London-based Paws & Purrs resembles an independent pet store. Financial website, This is Money, claims that bricks and mortar shop is, in fact, owned by the online retail giant Ocado.

Ocado, which made pre-tax profits of £11.9m in the 12 months to 29 November last year, already runs specialist pet website Fetch. It allegedly purchased Paws & Purrs around a year ago. The Stoke Newington store is said to help the company increase its understanding of the pet market.
