Tails and Scales Pet Centre in Welwyn Garden City was burgled at around 1.30am in the morning on January 17th. The front door was smashed and a charity box and laptop were stolen.

“It was an animal fund charity pot for a local charity we support. It’s a shame it was stolen,” the store’s manager told Pet Gazette. The box was estimated to hold anything from £25-£30.

The animals within the store were unharmed and the family-run business opened as usual this week, with the support of its customers.

The police arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of burglary. He was later released on bail.
