An investigation has been launched by police after two men reportedly stole four live turtles from a pet shop in Longcroft.

According to the Falkirk Herald, the turtles were taken from their tank in Central Aquatics on Saturday afternoon (23 May), before the men left the premises with the animals.

The men have not yet been identified, but an investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Owner Jason Frew told the paper: “We moved the tank to a spot covered by three cameras.

“We were so busy they managed to get past us but we’ve got a video of them leaving and they didn’t realise there were another two cameras.”

The store has now upgraded its security through the installation of security gates and security labels.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police
