Pet health brand Omni is offering £9,000 to a UK dog owner willing to monitor their pet’s breath daily for 12 weeks to test a new supplement.
The company, founded by vets, is looking to appoint its first “dog breath inspector”.
The successful applicant will be sent a supply of Omni’s new Fresh Breath supplement and asked to record changes in smell, signs of improvement and overall oral health.
Bad breath is one of the most common symptoms of dental disease in dogs, which affects around 70% of animals aged over four, according to Omni. It can also be a sign of wider health problems.
Applicants over 18, based in the UK, who own a dog with bad breath and are willing to share updates online can apply for the role.
Guy Sandelowsky, vet and co-founder of Omni, said: “We’re looking for someone who’s genuinely curious about improving their dog’s health and not afraid to get their nose involved. We believe this supplement can make a big difference, and we’re backing that belief by paying someone to put it to the test. It’s a weird job, yes, but an important one.”
