Dog treat brand Nova Dog Chews has launched a new gluten and grain free pâté range in a move aimed at catering to dogs with food sensitivities.
The firm has replaced the small amount of rice flour in the original recipe with sweet potato.
According to Nova Dog Chews, the change would make the treat suitable for a wider range of dogs, including those on raw diets, without affecting texture or taste.
The pâté retains its firm, sliceable consistency, allowing it to be served in a variety of ways, including cubed, grated or stuffed into enrichment toys.
Each pâté contains a single protein source and is available in 11 single-protein flavours including venison, duck and chicken.
Lloyd Murdoch, joint managing director, said: “We’ve always taken customer feedback seriously and the move to a fully grain and gluten free recipe was a no brainer.
“We want to make sure our products are not only nutritious but also accessible to dogs with sensitivities. This new and improved recipe ensures that even more dogs can enjoy our pâté.”
