Mars launches AI-powered dental checks

The next tool will be IAMS Poopscan, an AI-powered tool designed to analyse a dog’s feces and monitor stool consistency

Mars has announced the launch of Greenies Canine Dental Check, an AI-powered tool to aid pets dental health.

The new digital AI tool monitors the appearance of dog’s teeth and gums, all from a smartphone photo. The tool scans for signs of tartar buildup and gum irritation in seconds, using an AI model trained on over 53,000 images of dog mouths.

As a result, owners will receive results, along with recommendations on next steps. For further guidance, users can consult a Licensed Veterinary Technician via Mars’ PETconnect by Greenies service.

This launch is part of Mars’ $1bn (£750m) investment in its Pet Nutrition business driving digital innovation.
