The National Animal Welfare Trust has set up an Instagram account in the hope that it will encourage potential owners to visit the centre.

The charity features a number of pets available for adoption on the app, alongside details of their age, name and personality.

Instagram is a free application where users can share videos and images instantly with followers around the world.

Volunteer Natalie Roberts who set up the account said: “Instagram and social media is a great way to reach a multitude of people very quickly. Animal accounts are by far some of the most popular, so we’re hoping that the @nawtuk Instagram will bring more visitors into our shelters looking for their new pet”.

To follow The National Animal Welfare Trust search @nawtuk on Instagram.
