The final of the first UK Aquascaping Championship took place on the J&K stand at Aqua this year by way of a live scape off.
The finalists who were the top three scapers from round one, Antoni Dimitrov, Stephen Rhodes and Manuel Arias, scaped from 10am-5pm during the first day of Aqua.
Spectators were able to vote for the best scape in the ballot boxes.
Antoni had already scooped first place in the first round and went on to produce the winning scape in the final.
In the final, all of the finalists got to keep their creations including the 50L Dennerle Scapers Tank and Antoni won a £150 cash prize. The contest was a resounding success and the source of much interest at Aqua.
Paul James, managing director of J&K Aquatics said “Thank you to all of the entrants who entered; Antoni, Stephen and Manuel who scaped in the scape off; the judges who judged the first round; UK Aquascaper, Alastair Treymaine for supporting the competiton and Dennerle, Tetra, Arcadia & Eheim for their generous sponsorship of this year’s championship.”
We’re looking forward to next year’s contest to continue our commitment to doing this.”
