A member of the UK pet trade could be rocketed to stardom. Feathers the ex-battery chicken and Marion Horscroft, MD of Spike’s World Ltd, producer of the Feathers & Beaky range of chicken products, have auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent 2015.

The television show reaches our screens on April 11th. Viewers may spot the duo auditioning in front of the judges at the Manchester Lowry in January. Spike’s World Ltd reported that Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden, in particular, loved the chicken agility act.

The show’s presenters, Ant and Dec, interviewed Feathers and Marion several times. Dec overcame his chicken phobia to stroke Feathers.

Marion Horscroft has high hopes for the show. ‘We’re hoping that the exposure will encourage more people to keep chickens, especially ex-battery caged hens, and to realise that they are actually quite intelligent and have lots of character. As well as providing eggs every day, they make wonderful pets and provide hours of entertainment!’
