Meg Mathews to donate jewellery profits towards saving snakesJewellery designer and socialite Meg Mathews has decided to donate the proceeds from one of her collections to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

After going vegan at the start of the year, Mathews has announced she will donate all proceeds from Venom, her snake-themed collection of jewellery, to PETA.

“I have always been inspired by the beauty and exotic nature of snakes, but when I learned how these animals suffer when they are skinned for nothing more than a bag or belt, it gave me the creeps and I could never wear them again,” said Mathews.

“I am proud that every purchase of a Venom item will help PETA fight the abuse of snakes and other animals [that] people often do not understand and so misuse.”

From now through to the end of the month, visitors to PETA’s webpage can enter a competition to win a necklace from the Venom collection.
