It has been announced that the first ever Manchester Pet Show will launch this autumn.
Held at EventCity, the Manchester Pet Show will offer pet-lovers the opportunity to get up close with their favourite animals across five different event areas: Discover Dogs; Discover Cats; Discover Small Furries; Discover Exotics; and Discover Birds and Fish.
Among all the exhibitors and interactive events scheduled to take place, The Kennel Club has also confirmed it will showcase over 20 breeds of dogs at the event and host a regional heat of the crossbreed competition, Scruffts.
Director of the Manchester Pet Show Carrie Mosley said: “The figures speak for themselves. Despite being a first year show, the passionate pet owners in the North are proving to be an incredibly attractive offering for the pet industry to directly target through this event. Backed by considerable market research and with committed support from well-respected brands, such as The Kennel Club, Dogs Trust, Manchester and Cheshire Dogs’ Home, this brand new and highly anticipated show has been built to cater for a vast proportion of the northern population.
“The main objectives of the event are to offer fun and engaging content to a family audience, creating a weekend to remember for all. Our ethos is to offer extensive information and education on animal care and welfare to all pet owners, seasoned and novice alike.”
Events and education executive for the Kennel Club Vanessa McAlpine commented: “The Kennel Club is delighted to be involved in this exciting new show and wish the organisers every success. It is tremendous to have the opportunity to showcase happy healthy dogs to a new audience in the North West.”
The first-ever Manchester Dog Show will be held over the weekend of 7 and 8 September 2013.
