Held at the County Cricket Ground in Taunton on 17 November, the ceremony was attended by 280 people and the number of companies entered for awards were up by 20 per cent.
Production manager Martin Brooks, who represented Hilton Herbs at the awards dinner, said in an emotional speech that the accoldade was “a reflection of how employee commitment and dedication could overcome pretty much anything during a recession”.
Hilton Herbs was also a close runner-up to Higos Insurance Services for the ‘Marketing and Promotion’ award.
Sales and marketing manager, Heather Giles, expressed her pleasure at nearly scooping a second award, adding: “As a small tight-knit business we punch above our weight in terms of expenditure on marketing, so being runners-up to a company doing television advertising is a special pleasure.”
