Alpha Feeds to sponsor Northern Ireland’s first mushing rally

Northern Ireland’s first ever dry land mushing rally, to be held this autumn, will be sponsored by Alpha Feeds.

Organised by the Siberian Husky Club of Northern Ireland, the rally will be held in the grounds of Castle Ward, County Down on 6 to 7 October.

Organiser of the event Diane McFarlane said: “Dry land mushing, as an organised sport, in Northern Ireland is relatively new.

“However there are significant numbers of people throughout the country who own Siberian huskies and are keen to participate in this sport.”

Sean Cox of Alpha Feeds added: “We are delighted to be supporting this inaugural event, which is a very exciting new venture for mushing in Northern Ireland.”

Classes over the two day event include 3/4 dog; 1/2 dog; freight; canicross; bikejor; and junior dog.
