A dog walker from Stoke-on-Trent has launched her own online pet business after her previous business was temporarily shut down following lockdown.

Lydia Ruth, who previously started Happy Waggers and Sleepy Whiskers last year, told Stoke Sentinel she has now opened her new pet product business entitled Eco Pet Parcel.

The online store now sells environmentally-friendly treats, toys and grooming products for cats and dogs.

The business’ tuck shop treats start at only 39p. All toys are priced below £10, and its most expensive item is the Super Salmon Oil which is £12.

Deliveries over £35 are free, though customers also have the option to collect their order from Ruth’s home.

Ruth told the paper: “I spend a lot of time with animals so I wanted to provide for the animals that I care so much about.

“With the more research I did, my values became really important to me. I wanted to be stocking things that were environmentally-friendly but also really good for the animals.”

She added: “The response has been really positive and I am planning to keep going. After everything that has happened it is nice that something positive has come out of it. It’s been a really hard time and I now feel like I am moving forward.

“Having your own little shop is like one of your dream jobs and it is something I thought I would never do. It was in the back of my mind but I never had the time or thought about it in depth until it came to.”
