PIF announces autumn dates for Virtual Petindex

The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) has announced the dates for its second Virtual Petindex (VPI) online pet trade event in autumn.

Taking place on 11-12 October 2020, it follows the “success” of the UK’s first online pet trade show, Virtual Petindex (VPI).

The federation announced an early-bird rate is available for exhibitors who sign up by 28 August, VPI allows exhibitors to access a new type of marketing opportunity, with an “excellent return on investment”.

Other features include a limit of 40 trade stands per exhibition hall to enable brands to stand out, dedicated exhibition hall for the pet grooming industry – ‘Groomfayre’ alongside an enhanced chat facilities between trade stands and visitors and additional 14 days’ access to the show once the show days have ended.

Nigel Baker, CEO of the PIF, said: ‘With the uncertainty around live events continuing for the rest of this year, we wanted to build on the success of the first VPI and offer another opportunity for exhibitors to grow their profile in both UK and overseas pets markets.

“Over 60 exhibitors encountered more than 17,000 booth visits between them at the first event; and each exhibitor received between 250 and 400 visitors to their stand, as well as a full report and visitor analysis tailored to their stand.”

He added: “Of course, there is no travel involved. In these times, when the industry is unsure whether they want to travel, VPI fills a gap of bringing the pet trade and visitors together.”
