Belvoir Barkery, a new boutique for dogs, is set to open on 3 April 2026 at the Belvoir Retail Village, providing luxury canine accessories and gourmet treats within the Leicestershire estate grounds.

The new two-story boutique is located at the foot of Belvoir Castle, a regional centre for outdoor recreation and dog walking.

The inventory includes collars, leads, designer apparel, and specialised bedding from several canine brands.

The store’s opening coincides with the release of new illustrated walking maps for the estate, which highlight established routes such as the three-mile Duke’s Walk.

This retail addition is part of a broader strategy to expand the commercial offering at the Belvoir Retail Village, which occupies restored estate buildings and currently houses artisan food, fashion, and homeware outlets.

The boutique’s product range features natural treats and organic options alongside technical accessories.

The development of the store was influenced by the estate’s historical association with canine ownership and is intended to cater to both local residents and visitors using the parkland designed by Capability Brown.

To support the increased footfall, the estate has integrated the shop into the existing hospitality infrastructure of the retail village, which operates seven days a week and includes a farm shop and various dining facilities.

The shop will also serve as a service point for ramblers and dog walkers, providing access to the newly commissioned estate maps illustrated by local artists to assist in navigating the parkland’s historical landmarks and seasonal floral displays.

Duchess of Rutland, CEO of Belvoir Castle Emma Manners, said: “We are welcoming this dog boutique to the Belvoir Retail Village. Dogs have been at the heart of our family, so creating a space that celebrates them in an elevated way has been important.

“Every detail has been curated, from accessories to our range of organic dog treats, chosen with quality and wellbeing in mind. I also thank my Instagram followers who helped choose the name of the shop and have been supportive.”

Amelia Palfreyman, head of retail at Belvoir Castle, added: “So many households have dogs that are part of the family, so we wanted to reflect that through this new shop. People come to explore the Leicestershire countryside with their dogs.

“The idea behind Belvoir Barkery is to create a space where every dog is welcome, whether they have completed a walk around Belvoir’s grounds or visited for a coffee in the retail village.”
