Behavet has been named national winner in the Vets and Wellbeing category at the 2025 DogFriendly Awards, marking the clinic’s second consecutive year securing the publicly voted title.

The online vet behaviour service, founded by vet behaviourist Tom Mitchell, received more than 1,300 votes from owners this year. It had secured over 600 votes in 2024.

The awards highlight organisations that support the UK’s dog-owning community, with all nominations and votes cast by the public.

Behavet said the repeat win reflects its growing client base and the reach of its remote consultations. The clinic supports over 600 cases a month through personalised behaviour plans for issues ranging from lead pulling and separation anxiety to aggression.

Mitchell said the award carried particular weight because it was voter-led. He said: “This award means a great deal to us because it comes directly from the people we serve.

“To have more than 1,300 owners take the time to vote is humbling and a reminder of why we do what we do. Behaviour struggles are deeply emotional for families, and when our work helps a dog feel safe, confident and understood, it changes lives.”

Owners have praised the clinic’s approach, which uses behavioural neuroscience and concept-based training methods to develop low-stress, welfare-focused behaviour plans.

Alongside its work with pet owners, Behavet also supports shelters and rescues with behaviour cases involving vulnerable animals.

The clinic has expanded in recent years as demand for specialist behaviour support has increased, and its repeat recognition at the DogFriendly Awards underlines its position within the sector.
