Just For Pets opens two new stores

The group now has 19 branches and aims to open a further six by the end of 2022

Just for Pets has announced it is continuing its expansion through the opening of two new stores.

The retailer has now opened its biggest space to date in Stafford. The 10,000 sq ft store opened on Kingsmead Retail Park near the town centre following a 10-week bespoke fit-out.

It features a range of quality, premium brands, including smaller British suppliers not readily available on the high street or in supermarkets. It also features a treat station for product sampling and a free-to-use dog weighing area.

In addition, some of the store’s team have received training from Hannah Molloy of Channel 4’s Puppy School so that they can “offer customers the very best and most up to date advice”, according to Just for Pets.

Meanwhile, the group has also opened up a new site Worcestershire. The 5,410 sq ft ground floor and mezzanine space both received an “extensive” fit out, and opened for trade in August.

Just for Pets was acquired in October 2017 by Pedigree Wholesale Ltd, a family-owned established distributor that has nearly 50 years in the pet industry.

As part of its planned expansion strategy, the group has enlisted national property consultancy, Carter Jonas, to search for more stores. The group now has 19 branches and aims to open a further six by the end of 2022.

Stuart Williams, partner, Commercial, Carter Jonas said, “Just for Pets is on a remarkable journey, and we are proud to be playing a role supporting its ongoing expansion.

“Its clear vision and targeted growth strategy, putting customers front and centre, has enabled it to secure sites at key locations with a dedicated team focused on building community links and brand loyalty. This approach, which has re-energised the retail proposition, continues to gather momentum and is particularly appealing to landlords.”
