Sanicat has announced its commitment to its sustainability initiative to mark World Environment Day, which is celebrated every year on 5 June.

In the last two years, the cat litter brand has moved from plastic packaging to fully recyclable and FSC certified paper bags as part of its 0% no plastic pledge.

As part of its efforts, Sanicat has agreed to enhance its product portfolio, developing more efficient litters, and have also standardised the volume of production of bags in factories to reduce any detrimental environmental impact.

Mayte Serrano, Sanicat’s marketing manager, said: “We care about the wellbeing of our planet. In consequence, we strive to continuously improve our logistics and we aim to measure our impact and then have a constant continuous improvement so that we improve year after year.

“We can help improve the environment with things as simple as choosing the right cat litter, not only for our four-legged companions, but also four our planet. This is something we keep in mind when developing products and when improving those we have already launched.”
