Pets Corner has announced its acquisition of Scampars, the award-winning pet store based in Soham.

Scampars specialises in selling ethical products, with an emphasis on natural nutrition, and quality pet care.

The pet retail group will sell Scampars products alongside its other brands, which include Devini and Green Acres.

Opened by Piers Smart in 1985, Scampers has defined its business goal as providing the “best care and innovation” within the pet product industry.

Smart said: “Michelle and I poured our hearts and souls into Scampers over the last 35 years, but we felt it was the right time to hand over the torch to Dean and his brilliant team of people who love pets just as much as we do.”

Dean Richmond, Pets Corner managing director, said: “We are delighted that Scampers have joined our family. They share the same passion for nutrition and ethics that have driven our business since 1968 when my parents opened the first Pets Corner.”
