Royal Canin has invited pet industry retailers to attend a free, half-day virtual congress on pet obesity and weight management.

The event aims to “provide new perspectives to help them navigate the challenge of pet obesity” and will take place 24 February.

It is set to include games, social networking and access to product displays, as well as information during and after the event.

The Royal Canin Weight Management Virtual Congress will include sessions on:

  • Obesity: What’s the big deal?
  • Winning with science: how science health nutrition can help support the health and wellbeing of our pets and drive category growth

Lindsay Calcraft, weight management specialist at Royal Canin said: “We know that obesity reduces pets’ life spans and puts them at risk of developing a number of health concerns.

“We’ve therefore organised this congress to share the latest thinking about pet obesity so retailers can provide advice and support to customers with overweight cats and dogs.”

The Royal Canin Weight Management Virtual Congress is being hosted on the company’s new Virtual Event Centre, which brings “all the engagement and delegate participation of a real-life event”.
