The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) has announced that it will be extending its member benefit business insurance, to now accommodate kennel and cattery members.

For the last three years, the Pet Industry Federation has partnered with Jelf, to provide peace of mind around issues and core risks faced by groomers, sitters, home boarders and walkers.

The package has now been enhanced to benefit PIF’s kennels and catteries to offer cover.

PIF kennel and cattery members will receive protection around employers and public liability, animal theft, personal accident and loss of animal boarding licences and fees.

Nigel Baker, PIF CEO said: “Kennels and catteries represent a growing number of PIF members. They have very specific needs compared with other pet businesses, with some of the greatest responsibilities when it comes to animal care.

“So in this respect we are delighted to offer bespoke cover to achieve their business needs.”

Policies are subject to terms and conditions, and each member’s specific requirements and circumstances.
