Retailer-sponsored assistance dog completes training

Maisy, a black Labrador, has completed her training as an assistance dog with charity Canine Partners, with help from £20,000 sponsorship donation from pet retailer Pets Corner.

The charity provides assistance dogs to adults with a range of disabilities to enable them to live more independent lives. Maisy was partnered with her human Lynne at the charity’s Southern Training Centre.

Canine partners trust and corporate manager, Cat Harvey, said: “We rely solely on public donations to keep creating these life-transforming partnerships so we are extremely grateful to Pets Corner for their support and for enabling us to put Maisy through our training programme so that she could be partnered with Lynne.”

Dean Richmond, managing director at Pets Corner, said: “Canine Partners do an incredible job and their assistance dogs are truly life altering for their humans. We are really pleased to have been part of creating one of these wonder dogs and wish Lynne and Maisy all the very best for a happy life together.”
