Restrictions on demonstrations against the sale of puppies at a pet shop in Berkshire have been ordered by a High Court judge, according to the BBC.
Dozens of people protested outside Linton Pet Store Ltd, in Reading, to stop the sale of dogs from puppy farms.
Mr Justice Garnham said Stop Pet Shop Pups (SPSP): “have a lawful right to protest but the store also have a right to conduct trade lawfully,” according to the maidenhead-advertiser.
It was heard that protests were causing distress to owners Loridana-Maria Anna Agius and Jean Pierre Caruana and a panic alarm had been installed on site.
The protesters have been faced with an injunction that applies to demonstration within 250m of the site and protests must be no bigger than 25 people.
New rules also mean they can only protest between 10:30 BST and 11:30 BST on Saturdays and during one three-hour period in the week.
They will also need to provide a seven day notice of any planned protests to the firm and to the police.
